CHRISTY ROOD, lCSW
I have previously worked as a school social worker. I have experience working with kids that suffer from trauma, low self-esteem, depression, suicide ideations, self-harm, sexual abuse, and anger management problems. I used a person-centered approach with therapy where you will obtain an empathetic, nonjudgmental treatment. We will work together to create a treatment plan that is right for you. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths, Narrative, Mindfulness and Solution-Focused techniques. It is my goal to meet you where you are at, and to help you develop the skills to get you on the path to where you want to be.
I have a master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University with an emphasis in Counseling and Hispanic Studies. I am a member of Phi Alpha Honor Society and The National Association of Social Workers. I hope to meet you soon!
