Deirdre wilson,

I love the collaborative and creative work of therapy. I see my role, not only as a trained practitioner of clinical modalities, but also as one of a midwife or gardener. I believe each of us has the wisdom of what we need to heal within us. It is not my job to teach you how to be a better person or to become whole . . . our work in therapy is to help you remember that you are and always have been—whole. Together we compost the trauma of the past and rotate, turn it, and bring it to light so that it can fertilize the soil for growth.
Some of the tools I use to guide the process are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Grief Therapy, Family Systems, Life Stages, Relational, Somatic Experiencing, Faith Based and Play Therapy. No matter what the modality, my approach is always trauma informed, person-centered and strengths based.
I received my master’s degree in Social Work at University of Southern California in 2021. I value the dignity and worth of every person and understand that each of our individual struggles take place in the context of the social environments in which we live. Intergenerational harm, a global pandemic, systemic oppression through race, gender and material resources are all part of the compost I bring into the work of personal transformation.
I work with children, families, couples, and individuals of all ages and look forward to working with you.
