Kara graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with Emphasis in Clinical and Behavioral Applications from California Lutheran University in 2004, and a Masters of Social Work with Emphasis in Direct Practice from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2006.
The majority of Kara’s career during the last 14 years has been spent working with children and families involved in the child welfare system. Kara continues to focus on clinical work with families, children, teens, and adults facing issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, ADHD, PTSD, and other stressful life events.
Kara utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy to assist clients in understanding how their thoughts and beliefs directly impact their behaviors and actions. In addition, Kara utilizes psychoeducation, Solution Focused Therapy and a strengths based approach to meet her clients’ individualized needs. Kara is committed to help her clients reach their full potential and develop positive coping skills to confidently meet life’s challenges. Kara works collaboratively with clients by developing treatment goals together and creating a positive therapeutic environment.
